About the Founder

Sonbol started his career in horse racing in 2005 when he built multiple racing outfits from the ground up. He quickly took outfits to the top of the earnings boards and won meet titles at major tracks like Saratoga and Del Mar. In 2008 he won for his client leading owner in North America by earnings.

Sonbol is responsible for putting together the program that produced the first Triple Crown Winner in 37 years; American Pharoah. Starting with multiple G1 winner Pioneerof The Nile who finished 2nd in the Kentucky Derby and went on to sire American Pharoah. Sonbol also purchased the dam of American Pharoah as a yearling and engineered the mating that produced him. In 2015 he brokered the breeding rights deal of American Pharoah between Zayat Stables and Ashford Stud.

Sobhy is also the founder and CEO of Nile Bloodstock LLC. Nile Bloodstock offers a boutique like experience to its clients. The focus lies in two things: (i) first and foremost to make sure the owners are enjoying their racing experience and (ii) the second is finding and managing top of the line bloodstock for our clients racing or breeding programs.

Sonbol currently advises other clients such as Pick Six Racing whose one purchase was multiples graded stakes winner Vyjack who took his owner to the Kentucky Derby and the Breeders Cup.

Sonbol has been involved in the purchasing and breeding of 35 graded stakes winners that won 68 graded stake races including 9 G1 winners that won 24 G1 races.

Sonbol holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from UC Berkeley and is involved in other industries such as beverages, energy, and hospitality
